NCASA hosted its eighth Annual Meeting on May 14 at the Chatham County Agriculture and Conference Center.
Elected to the board of directors were the following educators:

2018 NCASA Volunteer of the Year: Abby Fitzgerald of Winston-Salem
2018 NCASA Administrator of the Year: Tim DeCresie of Pitt County Schools
2018 NCASA High School Principal of the Year: Cheri Skaggs of Brunswick County Early College
2018 NCASA Middle School Principal of the Year: Valencia Toomer of Horton Middle School
2018 NCASA High School Scholastic Director of the Year: Tony Blais or Wayne School of Engineering
2018 NCASA Middle School Scholastic Director of the Year: Kristen Jacobs of Jay M Robinson Middle School
2018 NCASA High School Coach of the Year: Scott Plaster of Simon G Atkins A&T High School
2018 NCASA Middle School Coach of the Year: Roberta Heath of Elizabeth City Middle School
Finalist for Volunteer of the Year were Lisa Holder and Michelle Leeman. Finalist for Principal of the Year was Sheila Jenkins of Northview IB Middle School. Finalists for Scholastic Director of the Year was Tracy Miller of Horton Middle School. Finalists for Coach of the Year were Mary Holloman of Hope Middle School, Chris Rice of Hickory High School, and Sandy Powers of Christ School.
We also recognized two students for their outstanding performance and contributions in support of scholastic activities.
