NCASA Updates

Hello and Welcome Back from your hard-earned winter break. I know we all wanted a few more days! As we begin the new year, our competition season is now in full swing, with registration and submission deadlines approaching for several of them. Please reference these updates and let us know if you have any questions. Also, please remember to forward any relevant information to others at your school or on your staff, since individual coaches may not receive these general updat

This will be our last weekly update of 2025; updates will resume on Monday, January 5, 2026. This issue includes a few small competition updates below, as well as our very first featured NCASA Outstanding Alumni! We want EVERYONE reading this to feature one of your previous students (or even coaches and volunteers). The link is included here for your convenience as you think about some of your top students from the past. It only takes a few minutes! Also included is a link to our Support Drive.

In this issue, we formally announce the Quill writing competition and provide some tips and pointers in our attached resource guides. As a reminder also, we will continue to promote our new NCASA Outstanding Alumni program; we would love to feature some of your previous students (or even coaches and volunteers). The link is included here for your convenience as you think about some of your top students from the past. Imagine how they will feel to be featured.

This issue includes our first Cup standings update to include points for the Twelve competition, with an explanation of how points are awarded. We're also really excited to announce two new initiatives this week: the NCASA Outstanding Alumni program and the NCASA Support Drive! Other information this week includes registration reminders for our spring offerings and competition reminders. It's time to register for ALL spring competitions.

On back to back days, our Virtual Quiz Bowl tournament concluded and then on Saturday, the state finals of Twelve was held at Gray Stone Day School, crowning both a high school and middle school champion. This week's focus is on our youngest students and NCASA's offerings available to Elementary Schools. Many of NCASA's competitions invite Elementary schools to participate. Getting students involved in scholastics early in school helps engage them in school and helps prepare them for similar events later in their academic careers. Plus, kids love to compete! We have some exciting news today concerning Methodist University's Title Sponsorship of our Dance Ensemble and Art Showcase competitions! Please read the full announcement below. We are also unveiling the topic and categories for this year's MS Forensics competition. Weekly updates include a final nudge for the Twelve, the Virtual Quiz Bowl Game of the Week sponsored by ZeeCraft, and other competition updates.
