The third annual HES - ESS North Carolina Showcase - Celebrating Excellence in Education, was presented on May 11, 2024 in the Mac Gray Auditorium of Statesville.
The event featured dozens of recognitions, awards presentations, and performances. Highlights are shown below.
Award Winners:
Lifetime Achievement Award: Sam Houston
Fine Arts Educator of the Year: Lori Hilliard from Asheville High School
Humanities Educator of the Year: Nardi Routten from Creekside Elementary School
Specialized Instructional Support Educator of the Year: Stephanie Nelson from Garner Magnet High School
NCASA New Coach of the Year: Ashley Hughes from Brown Summit Middle School
NCASA Coach of the Year: Valerie Mayhew from Atkins High School
NCASA Scholastic Director of the Year: Tracy Miller from George Moses Horton Middle School
NCASA Principal of the Year: Bradyn Robinson from George Moses Horton Middle School
NCASA Student of the Year: Tien Le from Arendell Parrott Academy
NCASA Administrator of the Year: Jeff James from Iredell-Statesville Schools

Live performances were presented in theatre, dance, a cappella, and show choir by Jay M Robinson MS, Arendell Parrott Academy, Northwest School of the Arts, and Overhills HS.
