For the first time, NCASA will present activities to elementary schools next year! Many new details have been established by our committees. Click below to read more.
Quiz Bowl
We will use the standard NAQT format used for middle schools and high schools with 20 toss-up / bonus questions in each match.
Questions will be custom written to challenge advanced students in grades 4-5.
League play will be offered running from late January to early March with one match per week. League play can be customized for virtual or in-person play, during or after-school meets, and other key details.
A Regional Tournament will be presented on March 2.

The Quill
This on-demand writing competition will be offered with three text types: Narrative, Informational / Explanatory, and Opinion.
Students will compete from their home school and the competition will be administered like a standardized test. No travel is required to participate.
Students have 60 minutes to complete their submissions.
Schools may form two teams of three students each so a total of six students may participate.
Individual and team awards will be presented.

Forensics
Two events will be presented: Original Oratory and Storytelling.
Original Oratory will be essentially the same as the Civic Oration formerly presented by Woodmen of the World.
The civic prompt or theme will be shared with all schools at the beginning of the school year. Students will create their speech in response to this theme.
Storytelling will use standard National Speech and Debate Rules.
Both events will have a five minute time limit.
Each school may send three students in each event for a total of six participating students.

Art Showcase
Students will be presented with a prompt in mid-November and will have two months to create their art submissions.
All work must be completed at school.
The following media types will be adjudicated: Painting, Drawing, Mixed Media, Printmaking, Collage, and Sculpture.
Each school may have one submission per media, but schools are welcome to participate with as few as one entry.
The top four scores are combined to create the team score.
Pictures of works are submitted so no travel is required by anyone.
