Congratulations to our 2015 Twelve State Champions!

ree

After an incredibly exciting day of competition, we are pleased to announce the 2015 Twelve State Champions! Over 250 students competed for the title, putting their heads together to answer tough questions from the core curriculum and wildcard topics like NC Geography and Performing Arts.

Co-champions for the Middle School Division, Randolph Middle School and Ligon Middle School, remained neck and neck throughout the competition. Randolph took an early lead with a perfect 12 in World History and Mathematics, with perfect scores in Arts/Media and Writing, as well. Ligon fell behind but came back in the final round to even it up. Metrolina Regional Scholars Academy took second place, and JM Robinson took third.

The remaining standings in the Middle School Division are:

4 - Hope Middle School

5 - EB Aycock Middle School

6 - Lucas Middle School

7 - CM Eppes Middle School

8 - River Bend Middle School

9 - Falls Lake Academy

10 - Central Middle School

11 - Mount Airy Middle School

In the High School Division, the top three teams gave a very close race, but the Early College at Guilford won the title of Twelve State Champion. They earned a perfect 12 in Algebra/Geometry and US History. Right behind them was our second place winner, Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, and Atkins A&T, with only a point behind Thomas Jefferson, came in third place.
