2021 Middle School Forensics Virtual Competition

The 2021 NCASA Forensics Competition was held virtually this year because of the pandemic. Students submitted videos of their speech performances which were viewed and scored by the judges. Public Forum Debate was presented live via Zoom on the afternoon of the Awards Ceremony: March 31. Students participated in five events: Public Forum Debate, Extemporaneous Speaking, Dramatic Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, and Original Oratory. In the Interpretation categories, students performed memorized literary works, and in Original Oratory students presented their own original persuasive speeches.


Below are the top students in each category and the top six ranking schools:


Humorous Interpretation - State Champion- Mary Milam Shepard of R Max Abbott Middle School


Dramatic Interpretation - State Champion - Morgan Snyder of R Max Abbott Middle School


Extemporaneous Speaking - State Champion - Lidia Fiore of Valley Springs Middle School


Original Oratory - State Champion - Anna Childers of R Max Abbott Middle School


Public Forum Debate - State Champions - TIE:

Mohamed Temraz / Joel Jimenez of Seventy-First Classical Middle School
