The Quill


Teams of four students must create written products given a prompt from a specific text type. The Quill is an original competition developed in cooperation with the North Carolina Reading Association (NCRA), and is aligned with Common Core standards.


The North Carolina Association for Scholastic Activities held its first ever State Finals Saturday, February 26 in the General Classroom Building on the campus of North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, NC.   Finishing in FIRST PLACE in The Quill on-demand writing competition with a final score of 82.7 was Myers Park High School of Charlotte.  Team members for Myers Park HS were Amanda StroudKate RandazzoHassan DuRant, and Zoe Pruitt.
