UPDATE 8/27/2020 - The NCASA Executive Committee met August 25 and made the following decisions in response to the ongoing pandemic:
Twelve - State Knowledge Competition - This activity which we planned to present in November has been pushed back to 2021. The committee felt that too many schools would not be able to participate in the fall because students would not be permitted to gather in the building even if they maintained social distancing. We hope to present updated dates by October.
The Quill - State Writing Competition - This activity WILL be presented this November. It will be further modified such that students may participate from home for Regionals and State. The committee will establish updated rules and guidelines and hopes to have these published by the September 8 registration open date:
Additional key dates:
November 2 - Regionals
November 16 - State Finals
Art Showcase - State Visual Art Competition - This activity will move forward this fall as planned. The prompt will be released to all schools on September 15 and students will have more than 4 months to complete and submit their works. All submissions will be due on February 2, 2021. See below for additional information in the Spotlight on Art Showcase.
NCASA feels scholastic activities are essential to the educational process and is fully committed to presenting scholastic activities this school year.
