Inclement Weather Policy
Inclement Weather, Event Status, and Cup Points
The safety of all participants is NCASA’s top priority. Schools are not expected to attend NCASA events if their district is closed or prohibits travel due to inclement weather. In such circumstances, NCASA may proceed with, modify, cancel, or reschedule an event at its discretion. All decisions will be communicated as early as possible through official NCASA communication channels.
If an event is rescheduled, any ticket purchased for the original event will be valid for admission to the rescheduled event. If an in-person event is cancelled and replaced with a private virtual event, ticket holders may use their ticket to attend the virtual event, request a refund, or elect to consider their ticket purchase a donation to NCASA.
NCASA recognizes that the inability of one or more schools to attend an event due to inclement weather may affect Cup point standings. In such cases, NCASA will determine an appropriate method for awarding Cup points. This may include declaring the event ineligible for Cup points for all schools or awarding weather-affected schools a number of Cup points commensurate with what they reasonably could have earned by attending the event, but not higher than the points awarded to schools that actually attend and place at that event.
