William Peace University NC Show Choir Competition
Show choirs first perform in Regional competitions on March 6, 13 or 20. The top choirs advance to the May 9, 2015 State Final in Winston-Salem. The competition is open to middle school and high school show choirs of all experience levels. REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED FOR THE 2015 COMPETITION.
2015 Show Choir West and NE Regionals
On March 6 the West Regional and Northeast Regional of the William Peace University NC Show Choir Competition were held at the SALT Block in Hickory and Perquimans County High School respectively.
Finishing in first place in the high school division of the West Regional and earning an Excellent rating was William A Hough High School directed by Heidi Hickox. They performed FAME, Out Here on my Own, and Edge of Glory. Just behind in second place and also qualifying for the State Final with an Excellent Rating was Union County Early College High School. Also competing were Mitchell HS and Hickory HS.
In the middle school division of the West Regional, Harris Road Middle School directed by Jody-Kay Skeen took top honors and earned a Good Rating. They performed a "We Got the Beat" medley. Finishing in second and also qualifying for the State Final was Mount Airy School who earned a Good Rating. Also competing were Brawley MS, Northview IB MS, and Community School of Davidson.
In the Northeast Regional, Elizabeth City Middle School directed by Pam Bellanca won with an Excellent Rating. They performed Earth Song, Hakuna Matata, and Africa. Finishing in second place was Perquimans Middle School with a rating of Good. Finishing in third was Central MS of Gates County.

Charlotte Area Regional Show Choir Results
NCASA presented the Charlotte Area Regional of the William Peace University NC Show Choir Competition on Friday, March 13.
The top middle school at the Charlotte Area Regional was Jay M Robinson Middle School of Charlotte. They earned a "Superior" rating and performed a medley from Seussical the Musical. Finishing in second place with an Excellent rating and also advancing to the State Final was Mount Mourne Middle School or Mooresville. Finishing in third with an Excellent rating and also advancing to the State Final was Hickory Ridge Middle School of Harrisburg. Also competing were Randolph Middle School and JN Fries Middle School.
The top high school at the Charlotte Area Regional was Grimsley High School of Greensboro (shown above). They earned an "Superior" rating and performed Best Song Ever, Jet Set, Roots Before Branches, and Shake it Off. Finishing in second place and also advancing to the State Final was Lake Norman High School who earned a rating of Excellent. Also competing were Myers Park HS and Atkins HS.
