William Peace University NC Show Choir Competition

NCASA presented the first statewide high school music competition: the North Carolina Glee Club Competition.  In Phase 1 of the competition, schools will record and upload a video of their Glee Club.  Judges will review the submissions and the top Glee Clubs will be invited to perform in the live State Finals.

Important Dates from 2011-2012

  • September 29 - competition registration opens.
  • February 24 - deadline for video submission
  • March 9 - District winners and advancement to State Finals announced
  • May 5 - Live State Finals hosted by Simon G Atkins A&T High School in Winston-Salem.

How do we compete?

Details are being finalized for the 2012-2013 competition. Check back in June when all details and dates should be published.

NOTE: Schools may choose to keep their video submission private.  These schools will receive comments and ratings from the judges but will not be ranked, and cannot advance to the live State Final.  All ranked videos will be linked from our website.

Judges

Andy Beck, Al Sturgis, and Nina Wheeler have agreed to adjudicate the competition.  All three have extensive show choir adjudication experience.  More information on our judges can be found here.

Adjudication Standards

Adjudication standards are from the National Music Educators Association standards for Show Choir and can be Viewed Here.
